2001 kx 125 or 2005 kx 125?

I am getting my first bike and I have a little over a thousand dollars. The 2005 is listed at $2000 and the 2001 is listed at 1200. I have to take out a loan from my parents for the rest! Is 4 years newer worth the extra 800 bucks? I want to get a new snowboard next year so I don't want to be paying off this loan forever. Any advice?
