What's it really mean?

I have heard so much on a wife's submission, but really don't know what that means in the biblical sense. I don't believe that a woman should be door mat, but to respectfully let the man lead with out trying to walk all over the position God has given him as HOH. So my question is what did it mean when the bile says for a woman to submit to her husband in Ephesians 5:22-24? If you answer that one, then help me out.
