Does EVERYONE have to go through the full body scanners?

I'm going on vacation soon, and I'm wondering if I have to go through one of those full body scanner things. D: I mean, I'm a little white minor, and not particularly suspicious, but I'm horrified of these machines. I've done enough research to know what/how much radiation is really dosed out in one of those scans, and I'd rather not do it if I don't have to. I don't really care if people think you get exposed to more radiation while actually IN flight, cause' I definitely have to endure that to get to my destination, that being said; I don't want any extra, even if it's less or equivalent. So, the point being: is it mandatory for all pengers to go through the full body scan/pat down to get on a plane at all? Or are they randomly selected? I'm mostly concerned about Newark, ft Lauderdale, and Orlando airports, since those are really the only ones I've ever used. I've been trying to research and figure this out but I can't seem to find any of this information specifically (that's updated at least). I'm not too thrilled that they can practically see your in the scanner picture, either. It's practically child in my case. =w=; Nor am I interested in having a creepy *** TSA officer my , even if they're female. So yeah. Is there anyway around this? I hear if you don't set off the metal detector alarms, they won't send you through it, but other people say it's mandatory for everyone (even old ladies and toddlers) especially in the airports I mentioned. Please no simple "yes" or "no" answers either, because I've already heard many like that, I really do want to know if this procedure is mandatory in the airports I mentioned. (For minors, at the very least.) .__.; Thanks in advance. <3
