I can't believe that Manny Ramirez, being almost 37, thinks he can still get a 4 or 5 year contract for 25?
million or more, per season. he wants like a 5 year - 125-145 million dollar deal. I know he's a great hitter, but he's a crappy fielder and base runner. He also is a major pain in the when he wants to be. He was crazy to turn down the Dodgers recent 1 year - 25 million dollar deal. He should've taken that, and hopefully by next winter, the economy will be better and he can get something more. If not, he should tell the dodgers that he wants 2 years - 45-50 million. Take that, and then in 2 years from now, he'll be almost 39 and then he can shift over to an American League club and play some left field and DH, and get another 2 or 3 year deal. Sounds like a good plan, what do you think? I know his agent is Scott Boras, and he is the greediest agent on the face of the earth, and he wouldn't like my scenario one bit. Sorry Manny, in this bad economy, you're not going to find any takers to pay you 125 million over 5 years, it's not going to happen. we are less than 1 month away from spring training games starting.
