I know it looks like a lot to read but im socially challenged and need HELP!!?

i like this new guy. i met him on friday. (we went camping with a group of people, parents and friends n family. and one of my guy friends, scott, brought him with, but i only ever see scott during memorial weekend) so the guy got my cell number from scott and they were texting me and ive been texting this guy everyday this weekend cept today. mainly he would ask me questions like where i went when i left the site and what grade i was in. turns out im about six months older than him.(hes a sofmor im a junior. we both n high school) this guy is also a friend of my bro n his dad works at the factory my dad manages. but neway one day my cousins friends came and one of them dated him before and said he was a jerk but it mighta been bitterness that he broke up with her but idk i dont know her since i just met her that day. but what do you think i should do? should i txt him or would it be too weird? would i seem weird if i txted him? if i do txt him what should i ask him about? keep it general like whats up or ask him about something that happened over the weekend? or should i just wait and see if he texts me? but he was always the one to text me first.
